Meals on Wheels
About Our Programme
We offer a fantastic service for the surrounding areas with meals cooked fresh daily and delivered straight to your door!
Bud’s Family Resource Centre’s Meals on Wheels programme sees over 300 meals delivered weekly. This is a great service to avail of especially to those who might live alone, live in remote areas, be recovering from a health issue or hospital stay. This service is invaluable to families that are working and have the elderly or infirmed members in their family. It is peace of mind knowing they have a fresh cooked substansial daily meal and someone has called and paid a short visit.
Customers may have been recommended for inclusion in the service by the Public Health Nurse. We are proud to be completely compliant with the HSE guidelines and offer dinners for people with all different types of dietary needs. We work hand in hand with dietitians from the HSE. Carers and Home-helps can also avail of this service for the person they are caring for. Meals can be collected from the Cafe or delivered to the persons home.
Our delivery staff are prompt and professional and enjoy meeting and greeting all those who they deliver to. We were extremely grateful to win RTE’s Today Show with Daithí and Maura’s “Village with a Vision” and used our prize money towards a van to deliver our meals on wheels. This gave huge visibility to our service and allowed us to increase our outreach service. We deliver and cover a wide area around Ballyduff including Lixnaw, Causeway, Lisselton and Ballydonoghue.
